Prop 3 on the Idaho Ballot is the one that provides the guidance for a long term goal of a 1 to 1 ratio of computing devices in our k-12 classrooms AND also provides authority for college concurrent classes to our high school students. I've heard discussions about the computing services at a cost of ~$300/student at full roll out to be "too high". Considering that we now pay ~$13m/year for books (and are never caught up) and a huge amount for current computer labs where we have to purchase the equipment, software licenses and the maint. services, this will be a bargain! It's been recognized by the School Districts and is why 85% of the High Schools in Idaho have already signed up to get them the first year of deployment! I witnessed a concurrent Phyc 101 class going on at the College of Southern Idaho and there were High School kids from all parts of the state virtually "sitting in" that college course having the same interaction as students actually there. Imagine the savings to the parents and the motivation for our kids to go-on to college after graduation if they already have some credits under their belts? People, these laws have been on the books almost 2 years now and positive things are happening today for the students in our schools. Please support them by voting YES to all three school propositions (1, 2 and 3)!
