Rivers are up and rising all over the state, if you live by one get prepared for flooding before it happens! Record snows in the mountains will be melting off in a river near you...

Has been nice to have my folks here this weekend. Mom and Dad are in good health in their late 70's and we have been having a nice time just hanging out... too bad the weather wasn't better, would have liked to take Dad fishing.

In light of the nuclear incidents in Japan, INL has increased our outreach efforts to help Idahoans better understand the nuclear mission of the Idaho National Laboratory and the work done there. They will hold an open house will be TODAY at the Silverstone Plaze in Meridian from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a short presentation beginning at 6:00 p.m. They'll have information and experts available for any of you who might have an interest in INL's seismic readiness and environmental monitoring activities.

Spent the 1st half of the day at ITD on the Director's taskforce to understand and fix State Highway access issues. Lot's of transition issues need to be addressed! Was able to spend the last half of my day taking care of our rental sprinklers and finally getting the lawn mowed this week... ah, the weekend!

Attended a wonderful banquet for the Idaho Freedom Foundation's 2nd anniversary, congrats to a team of folks working hard to bring light to dark places in government...

Busy day yesterday between meetings for the Wyakin Warrior Foundation, Right of Center Luncheon and transportation multi-modal interchange planning discussions... left little time to get much else done. I did get a chance to take and pass my motorcycle endorsement test at DMV between meetings.

Had a Wyakin Warrior Foundation board of directors meeting last night and selected our first Wyakin Warriors to go to BSU & CWI! Great candidates, there is great need for ensuring we don't allow those coming home down for what they've sacrificed.

Good day, got a lot of stuff around the house done that's been needing some attention. Cut some rhubarb and froze it up for pies and crisps later this year. We've got an "abandoned" home two houses down, so I got it's sprinklers going so it doesn't make the 'hood look so bad. Looks like I've got 2 yards to mow until it's sold!

At the end of the day, once the celebration is done, we need to think about and thank that team of men that went in and got him... these American heros are the lucky chosen few that were able to do the deed that needed to be done for our country. BZ to them and the other intel folks that had their six as well as the others in the queue to take care of business....
