Finally looks like we might get a skiff of snow in Meridian, was wondering if we were going to be overlooked this year! Plow at the ready!

On this Christmas eve, consider those that are around the world "on watch" keeping us all safe from harms way. Thanks to our US Military!

Taking some time to read Clancy's latest "Locked On". Classic Clancy, great read... his books always make you think, some of his stuff is so very accurate, it makes you wonder about the stuff you don't know goes on in the world.

I have always done what business I can with our local Zamzows because they are local and do good things for the community. I can't thank them enough for what they are doing (unsolicited by the way) for the Wyakin Warrior Foundation. If you need a Christmas tree or just want to donate, please stop by at one of their stores.

Had a good meeting with the Treasure Valley Chamber Alliance this morning, it was good to see that we are all pretty much on the same sheet of music. My only concern is that it appears their root of support for some ideas were more due to fear of federal intervention. I prefer supporting ideas that are right for Idaho and our citizens, not because I'm afraid of a federal brow beating...

Quite a day: JFAC with lots of numbers regarding everything from substance abuse to corrections to Parks and Recreation and topped it off with a wonderful evening at the Idaho House with the Gov and First Lady and lots of visitors, even Ester Simplot the original owner of the home came to enjoy the decorations and get to know the WyWF program... thanks all for coming and what you do for our heros.

JFAC meeting: We have a 40% risk of a double dip, recovery is not solid. DFM projected a ~6.7% increase, but we are currently looking at ~4.4% increase over our last Jan. projections which will allow us to likely cover statutory budget increases and some things we've had to put off, but not much I fear. Rainy day funds (IMHO) must be replenished ASAP. More tomorrow!

JFAC meeting starts early tomorrow. Looking at replacing a lot of one-time money from last years budget, I see the rest going to growth with little left for much else unless the economy picks back up.

In tribute to our Greatest Generation and the new one now being forged: "To those in our Navy’s uniform today, you are wearing the history of our Navy. It is the men and women that stood against the rising sun of tyranny that are honored today. Yet, it is in you that their memory is best remembered. You are America’s Navy, you must carry the torch first lit in 1775, and rekindled on this day 70 years ago. It is to you that America looks, longing for leadership, yearning for direction, and searching for security. Remember always, the history of our Navy is not who we were, or where we have been. The history of our Navy is who we are, and where we are sailing." HMCM (ret) Lyle Lookingbill

I can't tell you how refreshing it was to see the progress made in both ITD and ACHD from 5 years ago when I got involved in the Legislature. This is a great example of successful change management within both of these organizations. Thanks to Dir. Ness (ITD) and Dir. Wong (ACHD) for their leadership.

The BCS is so broken.... It's completely about money. Those in it for the game should boycott the BCS & create a league that allows greatness to bubble to the top as it should!

Biggest BSU Wyakin Warrior Tailgate in our history! Who else has free massage chairs at their tailgates? Thanks to Three Oaks Academy & Integrative Therapy for their gracious donation of time and talent in making this a very unique and fun tailgate party for our Warriors!

Long day: WyWF fundraiser discussions, IMA Healthcare discussions, BSU class on how Legislative committee meetings work, Income Tax reduction discussions in the Gov's office then off to dinner with my bride at Rick's Pressroom before the Meridian Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Good job to all in making our State a better place to live!
