Idaho ranks 4th in the nation for suicide and the only state without an individual crisis intervention program. As you can read in the attached site, veterans suffer at even a higher rate with more veterans dying by their own hand EVERY YEAR than the total of those killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan war combined. This is the reason I was able to bring a bi-partisan group together in JFAC to support seed funding of $110k to start a self supporting/funded crisis intervention program in Idaho. We must do better as a society in reaching out to our neighbors...
